Many of our individual clients followed a familiar path to our door. From the 401(k) side, we managed their company's retirement plan, and somewhere along the way, the conversation turned personal. What should I do with my own money? We have an employee retiring in a few months, can you sit down with them to help them plan?

We bring the same structure and discipline to personal wealth that we bring to plan management. No guesswork, no chasing headlines, no one-size-fits-all models.

We offer two core services for individual clients. They often work in tandem, but either may be engaged separately should you wish.

Portfolio Management

We build and manage portfolios tailored to your goals, risk tolerance and time horizon. We don't use cookie-cutter allocations or chase last year's winners. Every portfolio is actively monitored and adjusted as your circumstances change.

Financial Planning

A clear, actionable financial plan that covers not only where you are today, but where you want to go. We build plans that help take in the full picture and adjust as that picture changes.

Who We Work With

We work with individuals and families who want a hands-on advisor, not a robe-platform or an 800 number. Our typical client relationships start in one of three ways.

Business Owners

You already trust us with your company's retirement plan. Managing your personal wealth is a natural extension of that relationship.

Families

Spouses, adult children, aging parents. Financial planning works better when everyone's on the same page. We help families coordinate across generations.

Entering Retirement

You're leaving a company whose plan we manage, and you need help rolling over your 401(k) into an IRA. We already know your plan inside and out, which makes the transition simple. What we need now is to understand how we can help make your retirement dream a reality.

How We Work

What to Expect

Step 1: Discovery

We start by understanding your full financial picture: income, expenses, assets, liabilities, goals, concerns. The process is straightforward, and we'll walk you through it.

Step 2: Plan & Portfolio

Based on what we learn, we build a financial plan and/or a portfolio strategy. We walk you through every recommendation and answer any and all of your questions.

Step 3:  Ongoing Management

We coordinate with your other legal and tax advisors to get your full picture.

Common Questions

Is there a minimum to work with Highmark?

Generally, our strategies are most effective with clients at a certain advanced level of investable assets. For referrals, we review them on a case-by-case basis for best fit.

How are your fees structured?

We charge a percentage on assets under management. The exact rate depends on account size and complexity. We'll walk you through our fee schedule before any engagement begins.

Can you work with my CPA or estate attorney?

Yes, and we encourage it. Financial planning works best when your advisor, accountant and attorney are coordinated. We're happy to collaborate with your existing team.

What's the difference between Wealth Management and 401(k) work?

Our 401(k) services are for businesses retirement plans. Wealth management is for individuals. Many of our clients use both, but they're separate engagements with separate fee structures.

How often will I hear from you?

At minimum, we meet formally once or twice a year to review your plan and portfolio. But you can call or email anytime. We don't gate access behind a scheduling system.
