How We Got Here

Nathan and Jonathan each spent over 20 years in the financial services industry. Nathan came from the institutional trading and portfolio management world. while Jonathan came from the advisory wholesaling arena. They both ended up coming to the same conclusion: retirement plans often get treated like an afterthought or become neglected over time.
Most advisory firms are built around individual wealth management. If they manage a 401(k) at all, often it's because a client asked them to as a favor. The plan is usually fairly generic and, after a cursory implementation, goes on autopilot. Nobody's watching the fees. Nobody's managing the multiple vendors. Nobody's taking care of the participants. All that, and the business owner is carrying a risk they thought was solved.
Highmark was built to fix those issues, among others. We bring the kind of attention and structure plans deserve but seldom receive. We also manage personal wealth for business owners, their families and plan participants, but the retirement plan is where everything starts.
